You called me "my love" with your velvet tongue, where every word had its feathered wings hung.

You promised me a home built upon velvet lies,a home where only your dreams were allowed to fly.

You kept lying whilst I cried; you took this journey of forever as a one-time ride.

You crushed all the flowers I patiently grew, but what could I even do, when I was the biggest fool I knew?

You devoured my lips as if they were the only thing you wanted, whilst my bare heart lay split open upon the table, unwanted.

You abused me with your honey-smeared voice, making me grieve over my own choice.

You watched me drown whilst calling it the tide; I mistook your absence for love disguised.

You left me with fake promises you made, whilst every truth beneath your smile decayed.

You kept drifting farther whilst giving me scars; I stood alone beneath my abandoned stars.

For every lie you whispered, a part of me had died. At last, I chose myself and let your ghost pass by.
